When PNC acquired National City Bank in early 2009, they discovered they could utilize a bevy of online banking talents that were before unavailable to them. This included the ability to apply for a product online and instantaneously be given a decision. National City would customize its "End to End" product to fit into the PNC engines and be available to its customers.
Of course, this meant having to completely re-design the front-end of the application to fit with the newly designed PNC Online Banking. As the first application to exist with Online Banking, as well as a new PNC.com on the way that had not yet been designed, it presented some challenges. The end result was a one-page collapsible application, that proved to not only expand the online brand, but it also pushed the language into a new era of the online channel.
